President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC), accusing it of engaging in "illegitimate and baseless actions" against the United States and its close ally Israel. Trump's executive order stated that the ICC's actions set a "dangerous precedent" that could expose Americans to "harassment, abuse, and possible arrest." It warned that such actions could infringe on U.S. sovereignty and undermine national security and foreign policy efforts, particularly those of the U.S. and Israel.
